A legend has passed away.

Thurl Ravenscroft has passed away at the age of 91. For those of you who don't know the name, Don't worry, I knew I had heard the name but did not know for sure who he was until I researched him. He was a member of the Mellowmen quartet that sang the theme for the Mickey Mouse Club, Zorro and Davy Crockett. He was also a well know voice over artist. Here's a clip of him speaking about his most popular voice, that of Tony the Tiger. In addition to Tony, he also did some voices for Disney. Here's a few...

Buff, the singin' Buffalo head from the Country Bears Jamboree.
The singing Voice of the Ghost Host in the Haunted Mansion
The singing pirate of the Pirates of the Carribean.
The drunk pirate in the Pirates of the Carribean.
The dog in the Pirates of the Carribean.

He also is know for the songs that he recorded for TV specials like How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Paul Bunyan and the 1972, No Dogs Allowed for "Snoopy Come Home"

Sorry for the downer, but any website that say's they talk about pop culture that does not at least mentions that Tony the Tiger is gone, deserves to be exposed for the sham that they are.
There, I said it.
